Sept. 22, 2020
Parents and Guardians,
The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) has recently updated the list of symptoms that we are supposed to consider when deciding whether our children are well enough to safely attend school. The updated 'Daily Health Check' can be found below:
Please note that the procedures to follow during the 'Health Check' have changed as well:
- If your child has a fever, please keep your child home from school and call 8-1-1 or your family doctor to determine if a COVID-19 assessment is needed.
- If a child has any of the other 6 symptoms listed, and they are not the result of a pre-existing condition, parents are asked to keep children home for at least 24 hours. Children can return to school after 24 hours if their symptoms improve, but should stay home and seek a health assessment by calling 8-1-1 or consulting a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.
Thank you so much for following these guidelines closely and continuing to help us keep our children and families safe.
